Links for My Sick Friend

Posted Feb 1, 2024

COVID?? In 2024? Yes, it is very much still around, and making quite a comeback. And so, it is with great sadness, that my friend has come under this such ailment.

So, dearest friend, I've looked through my links for a few things to entertain you during these dreary days.

  1. In the case that you get bored of Netflix (I haven't looked through their new stuff recently, is it any good?), Wikiflix is a free little site for watching movies that have fallen into the public domain. Maybe better for browsing, but there are certainly some interesting things in there. Also see WikiVibes, same thing, but for music (and speaking of music, there's also this).

  2. By all means avoid this if you're feeling susceptible to a headache, but here are a bunch of mesmerizing computer animations by Etienne Jacob.

  3. 101 hidden gems: the greatest films you’ve never seen. Believe me, there wasn't a single film on here that I'd even remotely heard of. I think it would be a fun use of a wheel-spinner, and go in completely blind.

  4. Bored on your phone? Here's a curated list of "No Bullshit" games. A favorite of mine is Seedship, a text adventure where you play as an AI trying to save humanity. Kinda morbid, but I really enjoyed it. You can sort by genre, paid or unpaid, and rating.

  5. The Whimsical Web: Websites that spark joy. This is a great collection to browse through, probably best on a laptop.

  6. Fun stuff I've posted previously but recommend:

I hope among this you'll find something that appeases the big 'VID-19. Looking forward to seeing you BACK and HEALTHY Monday next week! (🤞)

Love,

Willa
