Reading Walden has been a quiet, calm, and positive experience. Every page or two Henry offers something, whether it be profound, thoughtful, or a joke, and because of my annotations I'm looking forward to flipping through again once I've finished, and maybe writing more about it.
But for now I've put Thoreau aside and have been giving my attention to my sister's old copy of the Longman Anthology of World Literature. I think the academic aspect of it gives me the comforting illusion that I'm adequately preparing myself for beginning my studies this fall, but nonetheless I'm enjoying it. I chose the edition that covers my favorite time in history (because it has my favorite writing): late 1800s to early-mid 1900s.
But reading about Thoreau's winter or the cold tensions in 1900s Europe can't change the heavy heat we have up here on the East Coast (and well, everywhere right now).

I changed instances from mastodon.cloud → indieweb.social, mostly because I was seeking a more queer-friendly space, but also because I'd been looking at indieweb.social for a long time. I'm grateful that I was able to join!
This past week has seen many, many changes to the site, mostly because I helped my friend build a site on Neocities, and it gave me some ideas. I've started documenting the changes in a slash page here. I also implemented cleaner h-cards and such.
On my way home yesterday, it was about dusk and I came across a traffic light, but the green of the light was yellower than usual. I felt it's strange glow as I drove through the intersection.
