Using my 4th generation kindle

I got this kindle for â‚Ŧ30 in Germany because, well, there weren't many books in English for me to read. I'd had enough of the Twilight series I had gotten my hands on, and decided I needed a kindle, so I got an old, beaten up one off eBay. It's served me well, and I've started using it again.

I don't hold Amazon to high standards, and although their support for old devices isn't stellar, it still works, with a bit of finicking[1]. One of my favorite things about it is that you're able to send webpages to it. Despite how much I do it, I hate reading on my phone, so sending it to my kindle makes things a bit more pleasant.

I did run into an issue where the kindle android app wouldn't send things properly, but thanks to an old reddit thread you can get around this by

  1. Sharing the webpage to the kindle
  2. Immediately opening the kindle app afterward

Then the little notification should pop up saying it was sent, and should show in a few minutes.

  1. Many words that I've never had to type out make me realize how strange they are. So common, yet I've never once thought about the spelling. I wonder if it's an East coast thing? ↩ī¸Ž
